Day 18 - Dec 25 2011

It's Christmas! What a difficult day to eat healthy for many of us. I roasted a chicken on a bed of baby red potatoes which I took to my Mom's. It gave me an alternative to the ham she was making for my son and my dad. Ham is one of my favorite things, bu the sodium will have me retaining water and as with any addiction it is one thing I will just keep eating. So the chicken worked great. I did have a small scoop of mashed potatoes but I made them so I know they were not horrible to eat.

And now I am going to eat a cookie, not 2 cookies, not 5 cookies but one cookie, because it is Christmas and I have done well the last 2 weeks and it is okay. I can be great at justifying bad habits but I feel this is one that is not going to hurt me any. I am not going to gain 10 pounds from one cookie on Christmas. I know that having boundaries and making these decisions are just as important as choosing to exercise.

Tomorrow is official weigh in day, hoping to see a loss. I fit into my jeans this weekend which I have not done in months, that is such a good feeling.

Yup, a Yankees hat!! My son promised to buy me one 2 years ago and he failed, so Santa brought one for me! I can't wait to lose the double chin!
